2. What is a Wireless Network Card?
It is a small Wireless network card called PCMCIA or PC card, about the size of credit card, which enables laptop users to connect to wireless networks at home or in any public hotspot area.
3. What is a WiFi Modem Access Point?
It is a combination of ADSL modem and Wireless Access Point (WiFI) and 4-port router. It is the base unit that allows customer with Broadband enjoy their broadband internet access via wireless means with in certain range.
4. What are the benefits of WiFi?

5. What is the difference between WiFi and Broadband?
Speeednet is a broadband internet service such as ADSL that allows the user to access the internet, whereas WiFi is a wireless network which allows you to connect multiple PCs/ Laptops to the each other and to the internet through ADSL.
6. What will I benefit by applying to WiFi service through Batelco and not any other supplier?
If you apply through Batelco, you will:
- Get a full year warrantee on the equipment.
- Get a full year warrantee on the adapter for
power supply.

cost is approx. BD 86)

WIFI at Home/ Office
7. How can I apply for the service?
You need to visit Bateloc’s Customer Service Centre to apply for the service. All you need is to have Broadband service installed at home and a WiFi modem to enable you to connect wirelessly.
8. What do I need to use WiFi at home/ office?
All you need is a WiFi modem (provided once you apply for the service in Batelco) for very low and affordable monthly instalments. Broadband connection and wireless network card.
9. How do I use Batelco WIFI at home/ office?
Firstly, you will need to have a Broadband connection. If you don’t already have an ADSL line, you may apply for one at any Batelco Customer Service Centre. To use WiFi at home, all you need to do is to apply to the service at any Batelco Customer Service Centre. Then supplier will install the WiFi modem at your residence and your home will be WiFi-enabled. You also need a WiFi enabled PC/ Laptop/ PDA to use the service.
10. How do I know if my PC/ Laptop/ PDA is WiFi enabled or can connect to WiFi?
Check the specification of your laptop/PDA. If it does have a built-in wifi, you will find a switch for it with an image of "a tower that transmit". If your Laptop doesn’t have that option, you don’t need to worry, you can simply buy a WiFi PCMCIA card.
11. What is a PCMCIA card?
PCMCIA card or the PC card is a credit card-size memory or Input/Output device that fits into a personal computer, usually a notebook or laptop computer. The most common use of a PC Card is the telecommunications modem for notebook computers.
A PC card is available that fits into a user’s laptop and provides it with WiFi connection capability.

14. Is there any risk to health from using WIFI?
WiFi used Radio signal of 2.4GHz and it is approved world wide to be safe for use in homes.
15. Who owns the ADSL Wireless Modem Router after 12 months is over?
After paying all payments in full, the Customer will own the ADSL Wireless Modem Router.
