How do you start the service?

Send an SMS “CHAT” followed by the mobile number(s) to 2000
Example: CHAT 39xxxxxx, 38xxxxxx sent to 2000

1. Open new SMS and type.
   To: 2000
   Chat 39xxxxxx 39xxxxx1 39xxxxx2 39xxxxx3 39xxxxx4.
2. Recipients are notified when the session begins by receiving a confirmation on the chat being initiated (no response required).
3. Simply reply back to  the group created and the message goes to all participants

Setting Nickname:

• Send an SMS “NICK” followed by the desired nick name to the existing chat.
  Example: NICK Hamood
  Once a nickname is set, it is visible to other chat participants and is used to display the identity of the user, instead of their mobile number.

Adding Friends:

• Send “ADD” followed by the mobile numbers of the friends you want to add to an existing chat.
  Example: ADD 38XXXXXX sent to 2001

Adding Groups:

• Send “CHAT” followed by the mobile numbers of your friends to 2000 for adding additional groups.
  You can have up to 50 groups at a time, and each group can have a total of 5 people in it.
  Each group is assigned a unique short code (e.g. 2001,2002,2003….) and all subsequent messages are sent from, and replied to, those group.

Setting an Alias:

• Alias can be used to differentiate between your friends with same names or nicknames
  Send “ALIAS” followed by the mobile number and the desired alias.
  Example: ALIAS, 38xxxxxx, Ali 02

Listing Friends:

• To view the list of friends in an ongoing chat, simply send “LIST” and you will receive the names/numbers of your friends in that chat.

Ending the Chat:

• Simply type “END” in the chat and you will stop receiving further messages for that chat.

Registration & Charges:

• There is no registration required and no rental. All Batelco customers can use the service.
• The price for the SMS sent to the whole group, regardless of the number of people in a chat is only 50 fils.

Roaming:

• Roaming rates apply when using the service outside Bahrain.
