SMS+ Filter

This service allows you to block SMS messages from specific senders (numeric or Alfa numeric).

• Mobile numbers (both local and international).
• Short codes (for example: 1234), and
• Alphanumeric senders: such as FreeCall, Winner, etc.

To start filtering your messages, use the following commands:

1. To block receiving from a source:
• Send "BLOCK SENDER" to 5000
• Replace "SENDER" with the name or number that you wish to block
  
  
2. To unblock receiving from a source:
   
• Send “UNBLOCK SENDER ” to 5000
• Replace "SENDER" with the name or number that you wish to unblock
  

SMS sent to block messages are free of charge.

SMS+ Groups

This service enables you to send out SMS in a broadcast method to pre-configured list of mobile numbers.

E.g.: You may configure a group called “friends” which contains the mobile phone numbers of your friends. This group will be linked to a pre-defined number (a short code).

Upon sending an SMS to this short code from your mobile phone – the message will be broadcast to the list of recipients.

To use the service:

1. Login to your account on www.o.com.bh and goto the SMS+ section
2. Choose SMS+ Groups
3. Create a new group
4. Add the mobile numbers to the group.
5. Choose a short code to associate with the group
   

All you have to do now is to send an SMS from your phone to the short code you linked your group to.

Short Messages Service Divert (SMS Divert)

Batelco is introducing new SMS service; SMS divert which will allow Batelco subscribers to divert/forward their SMS to another Batelco numbers.

• To Activate the Divert, send the following command to 5000: Divert <MSISDN>
• To Deactivate the Divert, send the following command to 5000: Divert off
  
• To Reactivate the Divert (to the last diverted number), send the following command to 5000: Divert on
  
• Divert can be done only between Batelco Mobile lines (Post-Paid and Pre-Paid)
  
• The charging criteria is the same as the voice calls divert and the charges based on the package (Normal SMS rates).
  
• One divert Only can be done; i.e.From A to B only (B should not be diverted to another number)
  
  

This service allows you to set an automated response messages that is sent out as a response to messages you receive.

E.g.: “Sorry I’m busy, will get back to you ASAP”. The auto response message will automatically be sent out as a reply to messages sent to your mobile.

You may use this service using the menus on this page, or using the following SMS commands

1. To configure a SMS+ AutoReply:
• Send “reply MESSAGE” to 5000
• Insert the text you want to appear instead of MESSAGE
• You will receive a confirmation SMS: “Your SMS+ reply is: _____”
  
  
2. To turn OFF SMS+ AutoReply:
   
• Send “reply OFF” to 5000
• You will receive a confirmation SMS: ‘Your SMS+ reply is now off.
  
  
3. To turn ON a previous SMS+ AutoReply:
   
• Send “reply ON” to 5000
• You will receive a confirmation SMS: “Your SMS+ reply is now on.”
  
  
4. To check the text of SMS+ AutoReply:
   
• Send “reply?” to 5000
• YYou will receive a confirmation SMS: “Your SMS+ reply is: ______”
  

Please note that you will be charged your Standard SMS rate for each reply that the system generates.

This service enables you to have a web-based “email-like” view of SMS, enabling you to view SMS, resend it to your phone, or organize it in folders. This offers the convenience of using SMS while away from the phone. The service offers 2MB of SMS storage and costs BD1 per month.
