Batelco Staff Completes First Aid Training

**Semi-automatic defibrillator installed at Batelco Hamala HQ**

Batelco, in line with its commitmenttowards the safety of staff in the workplace, makes every effort to enhance its employees’ work and lifestyle experience. As part of the Company’s efforts employees are offered various training opportunities such as First Aid Training. So far in 2015 two courses have taken places with the participants receiving Certification from a recognised UK authority. The training was carried out at Batelco’s Training Centre in Hamala by The First Aid Box Company.

Additionally, Batelco has also installed an IPADSP1 AED, semi-automatic defibrillator on site at their Hamala Headquarters, to be used in the case of sudden cardiac arrest. The award winning iPAD AED is the ideal choice for use by non-medical people as the device can be effectively deployed by anyone. Batelco Bahrain General Manager HR & Corporate Services Suhaila Alnowakhda said that Batelco recognises that its employees are the most valuable asset of the company and accordingly every effort is made to enhance their work and lifestyle experience.

“A wide range of training opportunities are available onsite at our Training Centre, covering telecom and non-telecom related topics such as first aid courses.”

“We are delighted to have installed such a valuable device as the iPAD AED at Hamala where we have over 1,200 employees stationed. Although this type of defibrillator is easy to use by anyone, we have nonetheless provided comprehensive training for a number of our staff in order to ensure they feel confident and comfortable to use it should the need arise,” added Mrs. Alnowakhda.
