What’s the cost of an eSIM?

eSIM QR Code Activation

It takes less than 10 minutes to set up your eSIM.

Before you start, make sure you:

  • Have an eSIM compatible mobile device.
  • Connect to WiFi.
  • Have your QR code ready. You can activate the eSIM QR code from Batelco mobile app or you can get your QR code from your nearest Batelco shop.

To activate your eSIM on iPhone, make sure your iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, or iPhone XR is updated to iOS 12.1 and above

  • Scan the QR code provided to you.
  • Go to Settings > Cellular.
  • Select “Add Cellular Plan” to launch the camera automatically.
  • Use your iPhone to scan the QR code.

What do you need to transfer an eSIM from your old to your new iPhone?

  • Your old iPhone needs to be operating on iOS 14.5 or later.
  • Your new iPhone must be iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, or later.
  • Your new iPhone needs to be operating on iOS 14.5 or later.
  • Your old and new iPhones must be on the same Apple ID.

How to transfer your eSIM during your new iPhone setup? 

If you’re asked to “Transfer Cellular Plan” during setup, follow these steps to transfer your eSIM:

  • Select the mobile numbers that you want to transfer to your new iPhone and tap Continue at the bottom of the page.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to finish setting up your device.
  • Make a call on your new iPhone to check its cellular connectivity before removing your cellular plan from your previous iPhone.

When your cellular plan is activated on your new iPhone, the plan on your previous iPhone will deactivate.

How to transfer your eSIM to a new iPhone after setup? 

To complete the eSIM transfer process, you’ll need to approve it on the previous iPhone currently using the mobile number:

  • On your new iPhone, open Settings > Cellular, then tap Add Cellular Plan. If your eSIM plan is available, you’ll see it listed. If you don’t see a cellular plan listed, check your Apple ID login and two-factor authentication.
  • On your old iPhone, a message will appear asking if you want to transfer your phone number to your new phone. Tap transfer.

When your cellular plan is activated on your new iPhone, the plan on your previous iPhone will deactivate.

After completing the setup and your mobile line disconnects from your old iPhone:

  • Don’t press or select Activate Cellular Plan.
  • Wait for 1 to 3 minutes and your eSIM will be activated automatically after receiving an SMS confirming that your order is completed.
